MassTex Imaging meets the needs of the patient and the facility. MTI is mobile, thorough, timely and convenient. We see patients at their Home, at Skilled Nursing Facilities, Rehabilitation Hospitals, Assisted Living Facilities, Independent Living Facilities, Adult Day Health Centers and Group Homes, Schools and Day-Habs.

MTI Referral & Scheduling Process

A Dysphagia Consultation includes, the Gold Standard, Modified Barium Swallow Study, MD Consultation & Esophageal Assessment to the Stomach.

1.      Submit necessary paperwork including, the “Signed MassTex Imaging (MD/NP/PA) Order/Scheduling Form” with consent, a face sheet and the H&P if electronic chart.

Physician Orders can also be on their letterhead. Please make sure the orders reflect the comprehensive consultation we provide, which consists of three components: Dysphagia consultation, MBSS and esophageal assessment to stomach. (Please note, script pads are not accepted, since they void when faxed.) 2.      Receive a confirmation call or text from scheduling team of the submitted Order Form(s) & necessary paperwork. MTI team member will let you know if any documentation is missing.

3.      Upon insurance verification –The MTI scheduler will begin to place your patient on the next available Mobile Clinic. The scheduling contact will receive a call and/or text from the MTI team the day before the appointment with the “two hour” time window of the Consultation.

Day of Arrival: 

The MTI Medical team will call the listed contact 20 minutes prior to their arrival. If you need more time, please note it on the order form. Clinicians and family members are welcome to come on to observe the consultation and speak directly with the MTI medical team.

Please have the patient up and ready with current height, weight and vitals for the day of visit along with the medical record to be ready to be brought out to the Medical Clinic for MD to review. If EHR, we will have the H&P you faxed. We can accommodate any trials and adaptive feeding equipment when applicable. 

The large C-Arm and Mobile Medical Clinic lifts can accommodate up to 600 pounds and wheel chairs (31 inches wide, wheel-wheel) with foot pedals as well as Geri chairs. If vent dependent patient, a respiratory therapist or nursing staff must accompany patient and remain on the clinic during the dysphagia consultation with a backup battery. If portable O2, please set up prior to arrival. We look forward to providing your patients with a quality service and immediate results.

MTI accepts SNF/Rehab Telephone Orders, however the TO must be sent to us upon signature. Once TO is signed, please fax to 978.279.1066.

Facilities with Electronic Medical Charts

Upon ordering a dysphagia consultation, please fax or submit online the following information:

  • History and Physical (H&P)

  • Copy of the most recent and complete H&P.

  • If the patient is a long-term patient that has not had an H&P recently, please send a recent progress note as a second option.

  • List of all Current Medications. 

  • Any Known Allergies.

Day of appointment, please have the following:

  • Current vitals, height and weight.
